Will Europe Grow? Watch Euronews enlargement debate live from Davos

Wednesday’s key debate between Kos, Croatia’s Andrej Plenkovic, Montenegro’s Milojko Spajic and Slovakia’s Robert Fico, will consider how EU enlargement can shore up Europe’s role in the world by growing the single market, küresel trade bargaining power and geopolitical weight.

The event comes against a turbulent küresel backdrop, and as Trump’s incoming administration has put territorial reach to the fore, staking claims to the Panama Canal and Greenland.

The World Economic Forum Debate – Enlarge to Prosper: Will Europe Grow? – will consider how a new vision for successful enlargement can align the EU accession process with trade and growth strategies, leverage private sector engagement and bring benefits for current and aspiring member states. 

Kos has taken on the enlargement portfolio after a period of European consolidation but as the new Commission mandate seeks to revivify its enlargement process.
