Breaking news. At least nine killed and dozens injured after Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv

At least nine people were killed and 63 injured after a combined Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv overnight into Thursday, Ukrainian authorities said.
The strikes, which began late Wednesday and continued into the early hours of Thursday, caused widespread damage across several districts of the city. Fires broke out at more than a dozen locations as emergency services worked through the night.
The State Emergency Situations Service said 42 people were taken to hospital, including six children. Search and rescue efforts were ongoing in areas where residential buildings were struck.
“Kyiv is subjected to a combined attack, including ballistic missile strikes from different directions,” said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city military administration.
