Earlier on Wednesday, the 76-year-old, who was recently hospitalised due to the side effects of his cancer treatment, met the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

It is the King’s first overseas trip since he was briefly hospitalised for side effects from his cancer treatment.

Charles is traveling with Queen Camilla on the four-day visit, which includes the first address to the Italian Parliament of a British monarch.

Britain’s King Charles III’s health has been closely monitored ever since announcing his diagnosis with an undisclosed form of cancer early last year.
