The far-left Die Linke or The Left party has gained momentum and jumped up in the polls in the final stretch ahead of Germany’s federal elections on Sunday.
Germany’s conservative parties and far-right AfD lead in the polls, with the CDU’s Friedrich Merz likely to become chancellor after the 23 February vote.
The party was rebuffed in an appeal to the Saxon Higher Administrative Court against its designation as a “far-right extremist” group by Saxony’s domestic intelligence agency.
